New appointment as Chairman of the State Committee for National Security in Kyrgyzstan

BISHKEK (İHA)Maksat Asanaliyev, 48, who previously served as prosecutor general of Kyrgyzstan, has been appointed as the new Chairman of the State Committee for National Security (UKMK).

Asanaliyev, who resigned from his previous post in June and subsequently served as acting Chairman of the UKMK, was nominated by President Sadyr Japarov for approval by parliament.

Members of parliament supported Asanaliyev’s removal from the post of Prosecutor General and his appointment as Chairman of the UKMK.

With a decree signed by President Japarov, Asanaliyev was officially appointed Chairman of the UKMK.

Asanaliyev had served as prosecutor general since June 2024.
