Kosovo Serbs, who have been protesting the detention of Serbian police officer Dejan Pantic who was charged with war crimes in November, by building barricades in the north of Kosovo, for 18 days and demanding the release of the Serbs and the withdrawal of the Kosovon special units from the north, did not obey the call of NATO and the European Union’s (EU) for removing the barricades, and built another one in northern Mitrovica.
Serbian media reported that the barricade built last night is the first barricade in the city center and that pedestrians were allowed to pass through the area while vehicles use secondary roads.
On the other hand, Serbian Defense Minister Milos Vucevic stated that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic ordered his army to make preparations against the possibility of a war breakout last night.
