New Israeli Soldiers Pray with Haredi Jews Before Joining Army

Following the Israeli government’s call, many Israeli civilians, including those living abroad, joined the army. The new soldiers gathered at the positions near the Gaza border for preparations, during which they were given tefillins, wearable black boxes with leather straps that contain sections from the Torah, and prayed with Haredi Jews. The soldiers were sent to their units afterwards.
