New species of dinosaur unearths in Chile

Chile announced the discovery of a new dinosaur species, named Arackar Licanantay. The researchers stated that the Arackar Licanantay, which means “Atacaman bones” in the Kunza language, is a member of a major group of dinosaurs known as titanosaurs, who were four-footed herbivores with small heads and long necks and tails.

“The finding of this fossil was headed by a geologist named Carlos Arevalo, who excavated this example of the new species together with personnel from the National Service of Geology and Mining, in a sector located about 75 kilometers to the south of the city Copiapo, in the Atacama region” said Consuelo Valdes, the Minister of Arts, Culture, and Heritage.
