During her speech in parliament, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern swore at the opposition party ACT leader David Seymour, forgetting that her microphone was on. Seymour said Ardern later texted him to apologize.
There were tense moments during the speeches of Jacinda Ardern and David Seymour to the parliament. Ardern was angered by Seymour’s repeated questions about hate speech, inflation, truancy, etc and gave intense answers to Seymour’s. She, then, whispered to Deputy Prime Minister Grant Robertson next to her “arrogant prick” once she sat down.
Seymour said after the incident that Ardern had texted him ” I apologise, it’s not something I should have said,” and that “as my mum would say, if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it.” Seymour also said he thanked Ardern for her apology and wished him a Merry Christmas.
