Nomads of Anatiolia migrates amid start of spring

The first convoy of nomads of Anatolia, who will stay on the plateau for 5 months in Şırnak, Turkey, arrived in Beytüşşebap plateaus days later. The nomads, who would stay in the plateau for months, started to come to the plateau without waiting for the snow to melt in the mountains after long journeys with their herds. From Şırnak, Mardin, Batman, Bitlis and Diyarbakır, several noman groups have started preparations to go to Faraşin Hale Meydan highlands, where the altitude is 2,950.

Beytüşşebap District Director of Agriculture and Forestry Salih Aktaş said that this year they will host 500 thousand small cattle and 70 thousand bee hives and breeders on their highlands. Aktaş stated that with the peace that has come in the region, beekeepers and breeders are now in a position to go to all regions, “On this occasion, there will be an intense influx of nomads to our district. We are ready, we will be at the service of our people with our full staff.”
