North Korea has relocated approximately 13,000 flood victims to the capital, Pyongyang, following last month’s devastating floods. These individuals, including women, children, the elderly, and disabled, were housed in state-provided accommodations. During a welcoming ceremony, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un promised to rebuild the flood-affected areas, stating, “We have the power to make this happen.” Kim emphasized that the disaster has united the country and pledged to restore the damaged villages, workplaces, and schools to be “more beautiful than before.” After the ceremony, Kim visited the newly housed victims and shared a meal with the children.
