Northeast Storm in US Kills 3, Leaves Thousands Without Power

The fierce storm wreaking havoc in the northeastern United States over the past 48 hours has significantly disrupted daily life. The impact has been particularly harsh, leaving over 600 thousand individuals without power across multiple states, including Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, New Jersey, and New York. Heavy rainfall has inundated streets and avenues, leading to widespread flooding and bringing traffic to a standstill in numerous areas.

The storm has claimed lives in various incidents. An 89-year-old man lost his life in Plymouth County, Massachusetts, when a tree fell on his vehicle. In Windham, Maine, another individual perished while attempting to clear debris from a roof, struck by a falling tree. Additionally, in Greene County, New York, a driver met a fatal fate as their vehicle was swept away by floodwaters.
