An official ceremony was held in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Türkiye’s July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day, honoring those who resisted the 2016 failed coup. Top officials, including TRNC President Tufan Erhürman and Turkish Ambassador Ali Murat Başçeri, gathered at the Boğaz Martyrs’ Cemetery to offer prayers and place carnations on the graves. Emphasizing the historic resilience of the Turkish people against the plot, Ambassador Başçeri declared, “On the 10th anniversary of July 15, we, as a nation, once again declare; the will and the victory are ours.” He noted that by thwarting the uprising, Turkey preserved its democratic achievements and is now “confidently moving towards the future as an effective, responsible, and determined actor” on the global stage.
