After Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s visit to the Atatürk monument in Nicosia, Turkish Republic of Cyprus, where he came for the 50th anniversary of the Cyprus operation, an official parade was held on Dr. Fazıl Küçük Boulevard. The ceremony, which started with the raising of the flags accompanied by the Turkish National Anthem, continued with the inspection of the ceremonial troops and the celebration of the people’s holiday, and the leaders made their speeches.
The operation in question was launched by the Turkish armed forces in order to regain control after the coup that broke out in Cyprus in 1974.
