The European Union (EU) military mission in the Red Sea, ASPIDES, announced that the Greek-flagged oil tanker Sounion, which was hit by the Houthis in the Red Sea 28 days ago, was towed to a safe area yesterday. No information was given about the area where the tanker was towed.
Operated by Greece-based Delta Tankers and carrying 150,000 tons of crude oil, Sounion was first transferred to Djibouti after the first attack on August 21, and caught fire after the second attack on August 23.
