Old Village under Dam Resurfaced after 20 Years

The old Pusat village, which was submerged under the dam waters in the Hafik district of Sivas 20 years ago, has resurfaced after the waters receded due to low rainfall and drought.

“This dam is used for both irrigation and drinking water for Sivas. This is the first time we have seen it like this. Almost two-quarters of the village has emerged. If it continues like this, the entire village will surface, and we will settle there next year. There is a drought all over the world. We have seen World Wars I and II, and we will most likely see water wars,” said a local.

“There was not much rain here this year. The waters have receded quite a bit. Our house was across from the mosque. It became visible as the waters receded,” said another local.
