As extreme heat grips Europe, northern Italy faced a hailstorm with hail the size of tennis balls. A 53-year-old person lost their life in the hailstorm in the Veneto region, while 110 others sustained injuries. The hail wreaked havoc on houses, shattering windows, and uprooting trees.
The Veneto civil protection unit swiftly responded to over 500 reports of injuries and property damage, with citizens actively taking part in the emergency response.
