One of the world’s largest energy ships docks in Istanbul

The Turkish Karpowership company’s “Black Sea Powership Orhan Ali Khan,” one of the world’s largest electricity generating ships, came to Istanbul Yenikapı for refueling. The 50-meter-wide ship, which took 18 months to build, has 21 funnels.

European countries requested an electricity-producing ship from Karpowership to supplement their energy supply before winter. Electricity generating ships are expected to meet the needs of 5 million households and support district central heating systems. If a deal is reached, it will be the first time a Turkish company has produced electricity for European countries.
