After the elections on 1 November in Israel, Likud Party leader Benjamin Netanyahu, who was tasked with forming a government, informed President Isaac Herzog that the cabinet was ready minutes before the deadline at midnight on December 21. Following the announcement, hundreds gathered in Haifa to protest the forming of the government. Protesters marched with flags in their hands, chanting slogans.
Israeli media reported that a vote of confidence session for Netanyahu’s cabinet is expected on January 2nd.
