orange alert issued for 7 regions in france due to heat wave

The French Meteorological Administration has issued an orange alert for seven regions due to the extreme heat. It was said that the temperature could reach 40 degrees in the Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur and 38 degrees in the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes. The French Public Health Administration warned people over the age of 60 to stay at home. The French National Federation of Firefighters announced that they are on alert for the possibility of a fire.

To ease the sweltering, French people rushed to beaches to cool off their bodies in the sea or to public parks where they could hide from the sun.
