Orcas Trapped in Ice Floe off Japan’s Coast

In Japan’s Hokkaido province, 10 orcas found themselves trapped in a drifting ice floe off the coast of Rausu town. The pod, located approximately 1 kilometer off the coast, faced rescue challenges due to heavy ice. Fortunately, authorities report that the orcas, including calves, may have been saved as the ice partially melted following a temperature increase.
