Ottoman Flavors Meet Caspian Traditions in Baku

The rich culinary heritages of Türkiye and Azerbaijan recently united at the Türkiye-Azerbaijan Gastronomy Forum in Baku. Organized by the Anatolian Professional Chefs Association, the highly attended event championed “gastro-diplomacy” as a powerful tool to build cultural bridges through food. Under the theme “From Tradition to the Future,” leading chefs and industry experts showcased historic, regional dishes from both ancient nations to preserve them for future generations. A major highlight of the gathering was the presentation of Ottoman Palace Cuisine, featuring exquisite, centuries-old recipes from the former imperial capitals of Bursa, Edirne, and Istanbul. By bringing these ancestral flavors to the shores of the Caspian Sea, the forum offered international culinary professionals a vibrant and delicious taste of shared history.
