Despite warnings from coast guards, the US-flagged yacht ‘Belgor’ escaped in the Bodrum district of Muğla, Turkey, off the Gulf of Güllük. The yacht was apprehended following the helicopter-assisted pursuit. During the investigation, 60 kg of cocaine was found dumped into the sea from the yacht, and 21 kg of cocaine was seized on the shore. In addition, 3 kg of skunk was seized on the commercial ship ‘Ocean.’
Four perpetrators of the incident were taken into custody. The investigation is reported to be ongoing.
