Overflowing Dam Floods Russian City

 

Following the recent heavy rainfall in the Orenburg region of Russia, a section of a dam on the Ural River in the city of Orsk overflowed. After the increasing water level collapsed the dam’s wall, the dam quickly emptied into the settlements, causing chaos and the deaths of 3 people. According to the authorities, more than 2,400 houses were flooded in the area. Also, 4,208 people were evacuated, and 10,987 residents were affected in total.
