An overloaded migrant boat carrying 76 people, including 7 women and 24 children, was found while drifting on Mediterranean waters. The immigrants, who were learned to be Egyptian, Eritrean, Ethiopian and Syrian nationals, were taken to safe boats and sailed towards the Port of Naples, Italy. It was stated that the boat departed from Libya at night on Thursday.
Mediterranean waters are known as the center of the world’s most dangerous migrant routes. According to the International Organization for Migration, more than 22,000 migrants have either died or disappeared in Mediterranean waters since 2014.
