Floods and landslides caused by monsoon rains since June 26 have killed 881 people and injured 1,176 across Pakistan, according to the NDMA. Punjab has been worst hit with 223 deaths, followed by Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, Balochistan, and Islamabad.
Punjab officials said 1 million people and more than 700,000 livestock have been evacuated. Authorities also warned that India’s Bhakra Dam is at 95 percent capacity, and any water release could worsen flooding in Punjab.
