Pakistan Monsoon Floods Leave Hundreds Dead

Monsoon rains since late June have killed 823 people across Pakistan, according to the National Disaster Management Agency. Punjab province has been hardest hit, with more than 1.46 million people evacuated as floodwaters submerged villages and crops.

Officials warned that rains are expected to intensify until September 10, with the Chenab River reaching dangerous levels at Trimmu Dam. Punjab, home to nearly half of Pakistan’s 240 million people, remains on high alert.
