Pakistan protesters against India over blasphemy

During a demonstration in Karachi, supporters of Pakistan’s Islamic and political Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) party chanted anti-India slogans in response to remarks about the Holy Prophet Mohammed made by an official from India’s ruling party. The Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) party, a mainstream religious party, organized the rally. Protests were held outside the Karachi Press Club.

Pakistan has issued a strong demarche to the Indian acting ambassador in Islamabad over the blasphemy after condemning the highly derogatory remarks recently made by two senior officials of India’s ruling party BJP.

The Indian diplomat was summoned to convey Pakistan’s categorical rejection and strong condemnation of the derogatory remarks, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).
