Pakistan Wins Gold Medal in Olympics After 40 Years

Pakistani athlete Arshad Nadeem made history at the Paris 2024 Olympics by winning the gold medal in the men’s javelin throw. Competing at the Stade de France, Nadeem secured the victory with an impressive throw of 92.97 meters, surpassing the previous Olympic record of 90.57 meters set by Andreas Thorkildsen in Beijing 2008.

This victory marks Pakistan’s first Olympic gold in 40 years. Nadeem, reflecting on his achievement, stated, “It was my day. I could have thrown it farther.”

Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, who watched the event live, praised Nadeem’s extraordinary accomplishment, celebrating both the gold medal and the new Olympic record.
