A Palestinian farmer, named Suleiman Al Nabaheen, discovered an ancient Byzantine mosaic as he attempted to dig near a refugee camp in Gaza Strip. Al Nabaheen said that he stumbled upon a firm ground when he started digging the land to figure out why some of the trees around did not take root.
“This provides us with historical information and details about the ancient civilisations and anthropology in Gaza, the historical and economic relations with the ancient regional environment and the status of Palestine across the world” says Palestine’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, adding that the national experts and scientists continue to work on the finding.
