Passenger Plane with 67 On Board Crashes in Kazakhstan

Azerbaijan Airlines’ “Embraer 190” type passenger plane flying from Baku to Grozny crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan and started burning. It was reported that 25 people were rescued from the 67 people on board, 62 of whom were passengers.

Grozny Airport stated that the plane was diverted to Makhachkala due to fog and then to the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan.

The Kazakhstan Ministry of Transport reported that there were 37 Azerbaijani, 6 Kazakh, 3 Kyrgyz and 16 Russian citizens on the plane.
