People lay flowers for deceased Queen outside the Buckingham Palace

Following Queen Elizabeth II’s death, her devoted fans laid flowers in front of Buckingham Palace in London. Coins, banknotes, passport, the national anthem, and other symbolic elements will also be altered.

In the United Kingdom, all cash and coins bear the portraits of Queen Elizabeth, who ruled the country for 70 years. The portrait of King Charles will replace on the coins after her death. It is estimated that there are 4.5 billion banknotes worth £80 billion in the country. It will take at least 2 years to replace the portrait on the coins and banknotes.

The UK National Anthem will also be changed after Elizabeth’s death. The words “God save our queen” in the anthem will be replaced by “God save our king”.
