A pipeline owned by the Energy Transfer company exploded in the city of La Porte in the US state of Texas, causing a fire and forcing locals to evacuate the area. Authorities from the company said that power to thousands of homes and businesses was cut off and that the fire had to be extinguished on its own. They also said that they were aware of allegations that an unknown vehicle caused the explosion by hitting a valve.
A firefighter who was dispatched to the area was slightly injured.
