Police Catch Suspect in Lion Dance Disguise in Thailand

Police in Nonthaburi province, near Bangkok, Thailand, arrested a 33-year-old burglary suspect by disguising themselves in traditional lion dance costumes during Lunar New Year celebrations at a temple. Officers used the crowd to approach the man, and one leapt from inside the costume to detain him.

Authorities said the suspect had broken into a Bangkok police chief’s home three times, stealing valuables worth about 2 million baht ($64,000). He allegedly confessed, citing drug use and gambling, and has prior convictions for theft and drug-related offenses.
