Police finds stolen painting worth £48m in Brazil

Brazilian police raided the home of gang members who defrauded an elderly woman in Rio de Janeiro’s Copacabana neighborhood. A search of the house recovered 16 stolen paintings. One of the paintings is a £48 million oil painting called “Sol Poente” by Tarsila do Amaral, one of the country’s most famous painters.

The old woman’s daughter was among the fraudsters and that at least 4 people were arrested, police stated.
