Police hindrance to anti-vaccine protest in Vienna

In Austria’s capital city of Vienna, a vehicle protest decision was taken by anti-vaccine supporters who demanded the abolition of the vaccination obligation that entered into force last week. However, the Austrian police stopped the vehicle convoys and made identity checks due to the protest, which was planned to be held in a time of heavy traffic in Vienna, would “paralyze the city traffic”. While the police teams removed the demonstrators from the scene, anti-vaccine demonstrators ended their protest by driving around the city streets with their vehicles.

In a written statement made by the Vienna Police Service on Thursday, it was stated that the protest with a vehicle convoy to be held on the important streets of the city was not allowed, considering the harm it would cause to public health and peace.
