A police officer in the US state of Florida shot a black US Air Force soldier six times in his apartment, where he went upon a report of domestic violence, as he opened the door with a gun in his hand on May 3. The 23-year-old senior airman, Roger Fortson, died at the hospital.
Fortson’s family denied the accusation of violence and claimed that the police went to the wrong house. However, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the address was correct and said that the officer’s act was “self-defense.”
