Police violence against 13 year-old Emirhan Altıntaş in Germany recorded on camera

In the city of Duisburg located in the Düsseldorf region of Germany, 13 year-old Emirhan Altınbaş was subjected to violence of the German police. After being reported for tearing up an election poster, Altınbaş was taken to the police station by the German police on April 12, after being pressed on his shoulder and being handcuffed behind his back. In the video images of the incident that shared on the social media, it was seen that Altınbaş was crying during the intervention of the police but seen that the officers didn’t care him.

Emirhan Altınbaş’s father Mustafa Ersen Altıntaş said that his son had signs of assault on his head, neck and back after the incident. Mustafa Altınbaş stated that the incident wasn’t legal, and told they would file a lawsuit against the police officers. Mustafa Altıntaş also underlined that the video images of his son reminded him of US citizen George Floyd, who lost his life due to the police violence.
