Polio Vaccines Delivered to Gaza Amid Rising Health Concerns

In response to the first detected polio case in Gaza in 25 years, Israel’s Coordination of Government Activities in the Palestinian Territories (COGAT) facilitated the delivery of 25,100 vials of polio vaccine to the region via the Kerem Shalom Border Crossing. Coordinated with UNICEF, the vaccine shipment is sufficient to immunize over half of Gaza’s population. The vaccines will be administered to unvaccinated children in the coming days as part of efforts to prevent a potential outbreak.
