The Vatican reported that Pope Francis, the 88-year-old spiritual leader of Catholics, who is receiving treatment at Gemelli Hospital in Rome, Italy, had a respiratory attack and vomited yesterday.
“Pope Francis immediately underwent broncho-aspiration and began non-invasive mechanical ventilation, which responded well to gas exchange,” added the Vatican officials.
Pope Francis was taken to Gemelli Hospital on February 14 after having difficulty breathing and was diagnosed with pneumonia.
