Reports of a possible visit by the Pope and recent earthquake activity have renewed global attention on Iznik, Türkiye’s historic city known for its spiritual and cultural heritage.
Tourism and real estate interest in the city have surged, with weekend crowds filling local businesses. Real estate consultant Emrullah Çil said demand has reached record levels, noting, “Our phones haven’t stopped ringing. Land, olive groves, and coastal properties are selling fast—İznik has become one of the most sought-after areas near Istanbul.”
Iznik, a UNESCO World Heritage candidate and a landmark of early Christianity, is expected to gain even more international attention with the Pope’s anticipated visit.
