Explosions continue at Popocatepetl Volcano in Mexico. According to a statement made by Mexico’s National Center for Prevention of Disasters (CENAPRED), 7 explosions and 149 gas and ash releases occurred from Popocatepetl in the last 24 hours. Reportedly, the ash coming out of the mouth of the volcano was mixed into the air and spread towards the north with the effect of the wind.
The last time there were 18 eruptions on the volcano was on February 13, then there were 7 additional eruptions on February 18. After today’s explosions, Popocatepetl Volcano has erupted 136 times overall this year.
