A Rafeiro do Alentejo dog breed named Bobi has earned the title of “oldest dog in the world” according to the Guinness Book of Records. At 30 years and 226 days old as of February 1st, Bobi has spent his entire life in Conqueiros, Portugal. His age has been verified through government-registered pet data.
Bobi’s owner, 8-year-old Leonel Costa, says that Bobi is just one of many animals in their home and is fed home-cooked food.
This record-breaking achievement surpasses the previous title holder, an Australian cowherd dog who lived to be 29 years and 5 months before passing in 1939.
