A priest was assaulted during a service at Our Lady of Lourdes Cathedral in Spokane, Washington. Security footage showed a man from the front row suddenly attacking Father David Gaines with his fists.
The 40-year-old attacker was subdued by others and later taken into custody. Police stated that the motive remains unknown but confirmed the suspect had an outstanding warrant for serious crimes. Father Gaines sustained injuries but is in stable condition.
