Pro-Saakashvili rally continues, thousands demand release of former Georgeann president

Thousands marched in the capital Tbilisi protesting detention of Georgian 3rd president Mikheil Saakashvili Thursday. United National Movement party supporters arrived from different cities across the country to demonstrate their support for the founder of the party Saakashvili who’s gone on hunger strike since his arrest before countries elections. Marchers chanted “Georgia… Georgia…free Misha…”. Party’s Chairperson Nika Melia said “Today, we’re going through a historical injustice in our country.” addressing the crowd.

Former Georgian President and the founder of UNM party, Saakashvili returned to his country after 8 years to take part in home elections on October 1st, where he’s detained by government forces.
