Protest at Israeli army chief’s home

Anti-war activists in Israel staged a protest outside the home of Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, throwing red paint to symbolize bloodshed if Gaza is occupied. Police detained eight demonstrators, who urged Zamir to reject government plans for a Gaza invasion.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the protest, saying Zamir was acting “morally and resolutely” to defeat Hamas and secure hostages, and called for those involved to face justice.
