Protesters Attack Governor’s Office in Mexico

In Chilpancingo, Mexico, around 3,000 protesters attacked the state governor’s office, leading to the theft of an armored vehicle and the occupation of the office. A curfew was imposed, and 13 policemen were taken hostage. Security forces admitted their inadequate response. The protesters demanded the release of detainees and road repairs. A dialogue table was planned. In a separate incident, organized crime groups killed five drivers in attacks on public transport vehicles.
