Protesters topple statues of Queen Victoria and Elizabet II in Canada

After the discoveries of unmarked mass graves of indigenous children in residential schools in Canada, hundreds of protesters gathered at the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba during Every Child Matters march. They toppled statues of Queen Victoria and Elizabeth II including several statues in the Assembly. A number of Catholic churches were also set on fire across the country. Some of the protesters were detained, and an investigation has been launched of the incidents.
