Protestors blockaded Haifa Port in Israel over judicial reform

While anger over a controversial judicial reform of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government grows in Israel, demonstrators blockaded Haifa Port. A group of navy veterans sailed into Haifa’s port in boats and blocked the entrance of merchant ships, proclaiming, “Sailors refusing to sail toward dictatorship.”

A road leading up to the Supreme Court has also been painted red and pink. Authorities arrested five demonstrators suspected of painting Jerusalem’s main roads while disguised as municipal workers and wearing masks.

“We will not accept violence against the police, blocking roads or breaking the law. The right to demonstrate is not the right to anarchy,” Netanyahu remarked in a statement.
