Protesters opposed to the World Economic Forum (WEF) disrupted traffic on the 28th Highway in Davos, Switzerland, ahead of the event scheduled for January 20-24. Police detained demonstrators and reopened the road.
In Postplatz Square, the Young Socialists (JUSO) condemned the detentions, chanting slogans like “End colonial capitalism” and “World Exploitation Forum.” Two protesters stripped in freezing temperatures as part of their demonstration.
The WEF will host leaders from 60 nations and over 3,000 guests under the theme “Collaboration for the Smart Age,” featuring 220 sessions and 50 daily conferences.
