Protests Erupt in Madrid Over Catalan Amnesty Plan

In Madrid, police clashed with demonstrators opposing Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez’s plan to grant amnesty to Catalan separatist leaders. Thousands of protesters across various cities, including Madrid, expressed their disapproval and tensions escalated as the police used tear gas and batons to disperse the crowd.

Spanish media reported approximately 4,000 participants, including the far-right party Vox’s leader, Santiago Abascal. Sanchez defended his party, PSOE, on social media, emphasizing that an attack on PSOE equates to an attack on democracy. Another demonstration is scheduled for November 18th in Madrid.
