Protests in Iran Over Nasrallah’s Death

Thousands of Iranians gathered in Tehran’s Palestine Square to protest the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut on September 27. Demonstrators chanted slogans against Israel and the US, including “Down with Israel” and “Revenge will be taken.” The protestors waved flags of Hezbollah, Palestine, and Lebanon, and carried banners reading “Hezbollah is alive” and “We will not lay down our weapons.” A platform was set up with flowers and a large poster of Nasrallah, alongside tributes to Iranian Quds Force commander Brigadier General Abbas Nilfuruşan, who was also killed in the attack.
