At least 25 people have died in violent protests across Pakistan following reports of the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in US and Israeli attacks on Iran. The unrest spread nationwide, with major clashes reported in Karachi, Islamabad and Peshawar.
In Karachi, at least 16 people were killed and dozens injured during confrontations near the US Consulate. Authorities also reported fatalities in Islamabad’s Red Zone and in Skardu, where protesters set fire to several buildings, including United Nations offices.
