Public sector warning strike demonstrated in Berlin

A few days before the next negotiations, Germany’s United Services union, ver.di, called for a full-day warning strike in Berlin by public sector employees and trainees. Employees at Berlin Waste Management, BSR (Berliner Stadtreinigung), and Berlin Waterworks Wasserbetriebe are also on strike, in addition to Charite, Vivantes subsidiary, and the Jewish Hospital. During the demonstration, protesters held smoke flares and a banner that said, “Appreciation is differently”

Additionally, Verdi and the dbb civil servants association are requesting that the 2.5 million nationwide employees receive an increase in pay of 10.5 percent and at least 500 euros.
